These are not fables of the men of old - (2) - Quran Chapter 6 – 25b & 26 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-794) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 6 – 25b & 26 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-794) - درس قرآن

These are not fables of the men of old - (2)

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

The verses and Chapters of Holy Qur’aan used to reveal during special and proper situations, explain and guide the Muslims suitably towards the straightway that in which situation, what they would have to do? The Muslims of that time used to bear in mind after hearing the Word of Allah Almighty and act upon Its Advice. Then the revealed verse or chapter was used to put at its proper place in the Holy Qur’aan, so that the Muslims, who would come after them, may get guidance in their own circumstances, which make to suit the circumstances of its time of revelation to do better for themselves, and act according to the commands and teachings of concerning verse. They should never do against the commands of Allah Almighty, mentioned in Holy Qur’aan and the Sayings of His Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), otherwise, they will be punished just like those opponents, who were punished at that time.

The situation of that time, when this verse was revealed, was that; for twelve years the Messenger of Allah Almighty continued admonishing the people, caused to hear them Holy Qur’aan and described its commandments. At that time, the people of Makkah had been trying constantly, except those who embraced Islam, that: As far as it may be possible, we would have to press Islam, act ourselves against its teachings and enforce others to do so. A facsimile of the condition of those people, which was after the preaching of twelve years, has been explained in words, and kept in these verses of Holy Qur’aan. And the decision, which was caused to hear in respect of them, that also exists with it, so that the people of every time may be watchful and use to think deeply upon their own condition: Whether; is there not the same condition as it were at that time (during the time of revelation of this verse)? If it is, then they should correct it immediately, otherwise they will also be given the same punishment as those people were punished.

The condition of that time was that the people used to listen to the Holy Qur’aan and take it as a collection of useless fables of the old people, and prevent others from turning their attention towards it, and they used to hate personally its way. They also wanted to have firm hold on those habits which their ancestors had learned, and they used to say the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) at the time of joining Him: What have you made this false procedure? (Let’s flee to Allah). It is useless. These idols of us help us in every matter. How can we set them aside?

Holy Qur’aan informed the decision about them that they, the silly people, are making arrangements for their own destruction, and do not know that they will be ruined very soon. Since the next second year of the revelation of this verse, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded to immigrate from Makkah to Madinah. Everyone knows, what happened with the Makkan people after that. They were disgraced in the world and slain, whereas, they still have to suffer the torment of the Day of Resurrection. Now we should think: What is the condition of today’s Muslims?
