Allah Brings forth the living from the dead (1)

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

95.  Lo! Allah (it is) Who splitteth the grain of corn and the date-stone (for sprouting). He bringeth forth the living from the dead, and is the Bringer-forth of the dead from the living. Such is Allah, how then are ye perverted?

96.  He is the Cleaver of the Daybreak, and He hath appointed the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.
95.  ‘InnAllaaha  faali-qul-habbi  wan-nawaa.  Yukh-rijul-hayya  minal-mayyiti  wa  Mukh-rijul-mayyiti  minal-hayy.  Zaaliku-MUllaahu  fa-‘annaa  tu’-fakuun.

96.  Faaliqul-‘isbaah.  Wa  ja-‘alallayla  sakananw-wash-shamsa  wal-qamara  hus-baanaa.  Zaalika  taq-diirul-‘Aziizil-‘Aliim.famusta-qarrunw-wa  mustaw-da’.  Qad  fassalNal-‘Aayaati  li-qawminy-yaf-qahuun.

Commentary

Faaliqun – (The Cleaver), it is the Subject from the word falaqa, which means “to cleave any thing and bring forth a new thing from it”. In these verses, this word has been used at two places. At first place, it means “to split the grain of corn and the date-stone (for sprouting), from which a sapling and a tree comes out. At the second place, it means “to cleave the darkness of the night and bring forth the dawn from it”.

Sakana – it is the thing, by staying in or near which, one gets all sorts of comfort. This word has come out from sakuun. Sakuun means “to stay or settlement”.

Hus-baan – (for reckoning), it aims that the movement of the sun and the moon has been fixed in such a way that by them we compute the time.

It was described in the previous Section that the people, who do not accept the Noble Qur’an as the Book of Allah Almighty, they have not known God Almighty as it was necessary to be known. They do not know: How the Greatest is His Omnipotence? He has created the entire world and established a system for it.

It was compulsory in accordance with the arrangements that Holy Qur’an was to be sent down for Guidance of the human beings towards the Straight Path and That should be brought by His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Then characteristics of the Holy Qur’an have been described. After that, the Remarkable Wonders of the Divine Power of Allah Almighty have been mentioned for making the people to understand, so that they may know His Omnipotence Who has established the arrangement of the world, and get rid of this misunderstanding that there is nothing in this system for the guidance of human being.

It is commanded: Behold the Nature of God Almighty. If the grain of corn is sown in the earth, that is cracked and a sapling of the grain comes out from that seed of the grain. The date-stone is cleaved, high and heavy trees grow from it. The dead (egg) comes-forth from the living and the living comes out from the egg. This entire is done by Allah Almighty. Sometimes we see and hear that a child is born from the dead woman and on the contrary to it.

Like this, God Almighty cleaves the darkness of the night, causes to appear from it the daybreak. The sun and the moon revolve with measure and the time is reckoned by them in the world. How do you err in knowing God Almighty, while you see all of these with your open eyes? These things explain every matter clearly that a Mighty, a Wise, a Powerful and Omnipotent has created them measuring correctly.
