Quran Chapter 4- 150 & 151 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-620) - درس قرآن

Believing in some and disbelieving in others

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

150.  Lo! Those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and seek to make distinction between Allah and His messengers, and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and seek to choose a way in between-

151.  Such are disbelievers in truth; and for disbelievers We have prepared a shameful doom.
150.  ‘Innal-laziina  yakfuruuna  Billaahi  wa  RusuliHii  wa  yurii-duuna  ‘any-yufarriquu  bay-nAllaahi  wa  RusuliHii  wa  yaquu-luuna  nu’-minu  biba’-zinw-wa  nakfuru  biba’-zinw-wa  yurii-duuna  ‘any-yattakhizuu  bayna  zaalika  sabiilaa.

151.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ika  humul-kaafi-ruuna haqqaa.  Wa  ‘a’-tadNaa  lil-kaafiriina  ‘azaabam-muhiinaa.

    Commentary

Yurii-duuna – this word has been made from ‘iraadah, which means ‘to wish, to seek, to plan, to mean, to intend’. Here it aims ‘they seek’.

Muhiinan – (shameful), it is from ‘ahaanat, which means ‘to abase, to insult’ i.e. that doom will make them abject and contemptible.

It was directed earlier that you cannot correct anyone by abusing or reproaching him/her. There is a risk in it that on the contrary; that person will become your enemy. However, it is not unreasonable for that person to reproach the tormentor/ oppressor, who is troubled. Decidedly if he/she has patience also, then it is a goodness, and if says a good word as retaliation of badness, then it will be a great goodness. And if he/she forgives the tormentor/oppressor, then Allah Almighty will give him/her its reward and forgive his/her sins.

Again; condition of those disbelievers has been described in these verses, and because maximum hypocrites were either Jews of Madinah or those people who had deep association with them, so in the description of hypocrites, the Jews have been mentioned, but name of anyone out of them has not been disclosed. After telling about some deeds, the order has been caused to hear. They should ponder about themselves, upon whom this description comes fit, and if they wish to be correct, they should act upon these instructions, otherwise they will be punished due to their wicked deeds.

It has been described that those people who do not believe in either Allah Almighty and His Messengers (peace be upon them) or believe in Allah Almighty but do not believe in His Messengers (peace be upon them), or believe in some and disbelieve in others and they want to choose a new way in between the Belief and the Infidelity, they should hear carefully with open ears that there is no doubt in their infidelity. While they are infidels, they shall taste the torment, because Allah Almighty has already prepared a shameful doom for the disbelievers, which will not leave them without disgracing and abasing. Only believing in God Almighty has no reality without having belief in the last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon Him) and acting upon His (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon Him) Sayings.
